CYF in Japan"Bulletproof Monk" is commercial movie based on a comic book. "The film not only has spiritual elements but actions scenes as well. The point of presenting fact and fiction is what attracted me to do the film" CYF said.

The film represents a unique relationship between master and pupil. There are many gorgeous and elegant action scenes that Paul Hunter, who is the director of the film, thought that he wanted to pay his tribute to Mr. John Woo. So he asked CYF to hold two guns in this film.

CYF: "I feel it is enough for me holding two guns anymore. Though it has passed more than ten years (since "A Better Tomorrow"), a large audience is still pleased about it. However, it is a little hard for an actor to keep the same performance. I want to try to do something new all the time."

He is 48 years old now. He consistently aims at new ground. Eventhough he had been at the peak of his career in Asia, he started studying English at the age of 42 years old so that he can take the challenge of going to Hollywood. After he had made great success with "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", there was the offer of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 2". "I declined it because it is young Li Mu Bai's story. I can't rejuvenate and I don't want to have plastic surgery," he said laughing.

The reason that he decided to do "Bulletproof Monk" was that because he had never played the role of a monk. In Hong Kong, he played various roles and appeared in more than 70 films. His performances in romance, drama and so on, were very well received - he is not only popular as an action hero.

"Hollywood has networks to distribute films all over the world. For actors, it is a dream. However, for the Asian actor, there are few scripts showing drama, so we can't avoid action movies. But I will wait for a chance. I think that I should stay (in Hollywood) - as long as I have the time, physical strength and a will," he said with a friendly smile.

When asked about his plans about working with John Woo: It is going to be "Land of Destiny. He expects to start shooting next winter.
